Creative Solutions Labs

The City of Oakland is relaunching its “community engagement” process for a new Downtown Specific Plan that will govern development from Jack London Square through Uptown, from I-980 to the lake. Next week’s public meetings will focus on how development strategies and policies in a new Downtown Specific Plan can address, rather than worsen, Oakland’s racial disparities.

City staff will hold a series of creative solutions labs to address these issues. The meetings will be held over four days, with each meeting addressing a different topic.
